Existing Businesses / Major Employers

Washington Parish has a variety of existing businesses across a number of industry sectors.  Its workforce has proven itself capable of serving the needs of both traditional and high tech businesses. Shown below is a cross section of existing businesses within the Parish. Many are located in the Bogalusa Business Park near the airport, where a large number of sites are available with basic infrastructure in place.

Paper -- The Temple-Inland paper mill is a large facility producing craft paper used as a packaging material used throughout the world.

Medical and Retirement Living -- LSU Health Sciences Center, Bogalusa Medical Center is a 128 bed full service hospital that along with the Washington -- St. Tammany Regional Medical Center and nearby assisted living facilities comprise a major economic sector for the Parish.

Banking and Financial -- Shown above are two bank branch offices, one in Bogalusa and the other in Franklinton.  Both offer a variety of financial services to their customers. They are examples of the banking and financial service sector businesses in Washington Parish.

Cabinet Manufacturing -- Another resident of the Bogalusa Industrial Park, builds high quality wooden cabinets for homes and commercial use.
